Job Description

The world around us is changing and FPGA devices are at the forefront of how we use technology to make our lives better. Because these devices are programmable and flexible, there are infinite possibilities to use FPGAs to bring new capabilities to life like autonomous driving. And now that Altera has teamed up with Intel, FPGAs and CPUs are being used together in innovative ways making the possibilities limitless. Intel is looking for curious, creative and motivated people who have a passion for developing possibilities into products. If you are an engineer looking for a place to spread your wings, join Intel's Programmable Solutions Group PSG as a thermal engineer where you'll be challenged to not only create thermal solutions for a variety of applications, but also analyze current architectures and seek improvements in FPGA function to reduce the thermal burden and increase product performance. Expectations focus on working closely with product architecture, IC design, FPGA and package engineering communities to deliver product level thermal solutions for FPGA and System in Package solutions. You will work on developing the system level thermal solution based on application requirements, package materials and technology. Knowledge of modeling multi-die package solutions is preferred. Requirements include modeling s/w skills include Flotherm, ICEPAK and Compact Thermal Models. Having clear communication skills, a proven engineering track record and working within a high caliber team rounds out the desired skillset. 5 years of experience and a Master's degree required.
