Work as part of multi-geo team delivering customer centric solutions 

Platform testing for Cisco router products that operate in network access/edge
• Work involves developing test cases, automated scripts, manual testing and attending to reproduce customer found defects on existing as well as newer products/features
• Able to execute the tasks based on timelines and be able to adapt to changing priorities based on release and product requirements
• Work with cross-geographic teams to interact, share and schedule

Skills Required:

• Very strong and engineering level expertise on network technologies, network applications

Excellent knowledge of Python or any other scripting language

Strong troubleshooting skills, collaborative working background

Experience in using various test tools, traffic generators

Understanding of software development life cycle, strong culture of quality

Ability to build complex networks, understand use cases and execute them to perfection

Troubleshooting network and software issues in scaled, complex network setup


L2/L3 technologies, LAN/WAN, routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and other data network technologies like VPN, MPLS etc.
• Scripting experience in Tcl/Expect, Python
• Very good experience in routing protocols, IP services (QoS, NAT etc), MPLS, L2/L3 VPNs and Broadband technologies
• Experience in writing test plans, designing test cases, executing test cases, and automation
• Understanding of white-box and black-box test techniques
• Working experience with test tools like traffic analyzers (e.g., Sniffer, Ethereal), traffic generation tools (e.g., Smartbits, Ixia), and code coverage tools is highly desirable
• Experience with CVS, Clearcase, and DDTs is a plus
• Cisco product certification/past experience in Cisco products preferred
• Prior hands-on experience in setting up test labs and configuration
• Familiarity with software release process
• Test plan design and development for system test environment to cover the following areas:
o Feature Testing
o Scalability and Perf testing
o Negative tests and corner cases
o Map customer scenarios to test cases
o Stress tests, longevity tests
o Testing feature combinations
• Develop topology based on test requirements and setting up the test bed
• Manual and automated testing, Quick sanity tests
• Follow test processes such as bug logging, bug repro, result archival
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills are essential. Candidate should be able to multitask and work with multiple teams. Very good troubleshooting skills and work with less supervision and follow-up. Exercises judgment within defined standards and consults with management. Commitment to customer success is key to this role.

Education:
Typically requires BSEE/CS plus 5+ yrs related experience, or a MSEE/CS combined with 4+ years of related experience. CCNA, CCNP, or other Cisco certifications will be a plus.
