The position of Data Center Technical Solution Architects are pre-sales technical positions, which requires a balance of technical acumen and sales experience


What You'll Do

The Technical Solution Architect is expected to have strong proven experience in the following primary responsibilities that make-up the role:

  • Articulating the message of the Business Value of its domain of specialization to help line of business leaders understand, how Cisco technology could help them empower, engage, and innovate to grow their business
  • Engagement with the technical decision maker within the Enterprise accounts with identified opportunities in its domain of specialization
  • Technical leadership in developing and positioning innovative architecture solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Driving and working as part of a technical team that could include account system engineer, ecosystem engineer, channel partner pre-sales, technical solutions network engineers
  • Developing bill of materials that reflect the architectural solutions
  • Contributing to the Cisco response RFI, RFP and RFQ document that might be issued by customers
  • Developing and executing bench-mark-testing (BMT) efforts in order to win the technical competitive
  • Developing and maintaining relationship with the technical community especially system integrators and ecosystem vendors in its domain of specialization.
  • Being a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in its area of specialization is also part of the role 

Who You’ll Work With

We are a community of product and competitive technical engineers focused on products and solutions in its domain of specialization, who strive to promote, innovate, and educate through collaboration with Sales, Product Marketing, and the company as a whole. 

You will be part of an elite technical pre-sales team responsible for driving the success of our delivered solutions. This is a pre-sales position that supports the Sales organization working directly with customers, and managing all the technical aspects of pre-sales activities. 

We help customers understand how to use these state of the art networks and make it possible for them to achieve their business goals in ways they would never have imagined.


Who You Are

  • You will bring 8 years’ experience as a pre-sales technical resource in your domain of specialization or, equivalent experience in other related roles.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong skills and experience in its domain of specialization and pre-sales areas.
  • Datacenter Technology skills and experience (in at least 5 areas)
    • x86 compute hardware
    • Storage and data management systems
    • Data Center networks and network services
    • Data Center operations using scripting tools and languages
    • Hypervisor technologies as an architect, design engineer or operations
    • Operating systems: Linux, Microsoft Windows, etc…
    • Enterprise applications and/or Development environments
    • SDN Technologies, OpenDayLight, Openflow, Openstack
    • Big data (Hadoop) infrastructure
  • Good communicator
  • Self-starter
  • Team player
  • Good presenter
  • Good organization
  • Competitive (likes to win)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong executive presence, including the ability to present technical information in user-friendly language.
  • Write and speak English and French fluently.
