TMEs in this role will be expected to work with Senior TMEs, Product Managers, and Field representatives in implementing competitive analysis strategies in alignment with business strategies. TME will have the opportunity to provide strategic and tactical input to Product Management and Engineering and have a major impact on product/solution direction and strategy. You will report into the Vertical Solutions and will closely collaborate with the wireless, switching and routing business units and Cisco industrial partners to create effective solutions.

What You’ll Do
The primary responsibility of this role is pre-sales support of field engagements, conducting Proof of Concepts, Demos, Vertical solutions. Basic job responsibilities include hands-on solutions creation and collaboration with the architecture team. Further responsibilities will include solutions development and verification utilizing a broad range of Cisco and partner technologies. 

Deliverables include whitepapers, presentations, outbound and inbound shows and pre-sales support of strategic engagements.

This TME role is a hands-on technical marketing position in San Jose, ideal for candidates seeking to work with an innovative and highly competitive team in a startup style environment, for a fast-growing, cutting edge business unit. You will report into the Vertical Solution group and will closely collaborate with the wireless, switching and routing business units and Cisco industrial partners to create effective solutions.

Qualified candidates must be able to implement operations at the solutions and systems level. A candidate must be able to articulate the technical benefits of products and solutions at an architecture level. Candidates will be required to work cross-functionally, so strong collaborative skills are a must.  Also must have switching, ENergyWise, building automation, enterprise campus LAN experience. 

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of Software Development experience
  • 3+ years of TME experience 
  • Knowledge of IoT Architecture
  • Strong L2-L3 networking knowledge, sufficient enough to understand customer solutions, topologies and interaction with higher networking layers. 
  • Strong Linux integration skills as well as Python, Java, C and Lua programming with JSON and REST API are a must.
  • Good knowledge of wireless sensor technologies (including ISA 100, Wireless Hart, Zigbee, LORA and 6loPan)
  • Experience in one of the Process Manufacturing industries as well as involvement in the ISA100, Hart, IPSO, IEC, IEEE standard bodies highly desirable as well.
  • Good presentation and power point skills. Good technical writing abilities for writing application notes, whitepapers, etc.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and still have a big impact.
  • Candidates must be highly organized, fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, especially technical writing.
  • Public speaking is a big part of the job, so a candidate must be experienced and skilled as a presenter.  A track record of presenting at industry events, developing strong technical collateral, in-depth testing and competitive analysis are key as well.
  • Travel may be required as much as 25% of the time.
  • Candidates will be required to work cross-functionally, so strong collaborative skills are a must. 
Preferred Skills
  • CCIE Routing and Switching
  • Industry knowledge in one or more IoT verticals
  • Industrial Routing Platform knowledge (819-H, 829, CGR 1240, CGR 1120)
  • Knowledge of Cellular certification process with Carriers
  • Knowledge of Industrial protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850)
  • Experience with Cisco ISR G2 platforms
  • Cloud computing, FOG computing
