Who You'll work With

Insieme is one of Cisco’s recent acquisition teams. Insieme is developing the Nexus 9000 line of data center and cloud switches that feature application awareness to make the network infrastructure flexible and agile for dynamic response to application needs and virtual machine workload mobility. Insieme also developed a 40G Ethernet transceiver designed to drastically lower the price of 40G optics to better contend with other lower cost switches in the market.

Who You Are

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our Insieme team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • You have 10+ years overall hardware experience
  • You have been doing FPGA-development using Verilog/VHDL with/without built-in pre-packaged libraries for 5 years or more.
  • Ablility to abstract from product specification to determine imager, FPGA size and package, memory bandwidth, power requirement, and processing speed
  • Deep understanding with Altera Quartus X Modelsim & Xilinx Client/EDK/ISE Modelsim
  • MATLAB/Simulink knowledge preferred, not required.
  • Excellent debug/troubleshoot skills with Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, or on-chip analyzer Altera SignalTap or Xilinx ChipScope
  • Experience with high speed networking.
  • Experience with x86 based board design.
  • Experience in designing PCIe, SATA, DDR3, DDR4, XFI, XAUI, nPPI & other differential high speed interface buses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other disciplines, including CAD, software, mechanical, signal integrity, & manufacturing teams.
