What You’ll Do
You’ll need to understand Cisco's general business strategy and processes and how they differ from competitors; responsible for achieving goals that may affect costs, personnel and deadlines. 
Will manage complex activities associated with analyzing the impact of domestic and international tax laws on business decisions; understand implications of changes in tax laws on business operations involved with directing the implementation of strategies to minimize corporate tax and ensure accurate and timely tax compliance. 
Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establishes milestones to meet objectives; evaluate and sell alternative solutions, effectively influencing outcomes; discuss and make technical presentations concerning specific projects or business issues. 
You’ll be viewed as a technical resource by peers in the same organization and across various functions; partner with client groups in a team setting to take ownership of their business objectives and to provide technical expertise in developing their business strategy. 
You’ll handle all direct, indirect and transaction tax matters for Cisco’s operations in the Greater China region which includes all Cisco entities within the Greater China territory covering – sales & marketing, R&D, product and services, financing and coordinating with the APJ team and the local business teams. The position is intended to provide local leadership and on-the-ground experience for our team in a fast-growing jurisdiction with its own tax system, culture, and language.

Who You’ll Work With
The China Direct Tax Manager is an important international theater role. The role reports to the Senior Tax Manager based in Hong Kong. The role will involve coordinating with the direct tax managers in the other theaters as well as with the other tax functions, compliance and customs peers, within the APJC theatre. Further, this role will partner with a variety of business and functions to support business opportunities and expansion from tax perspective. 

Who You Are
University degree in accounting or Law, or similar fields. 
CPA or legal professional certification preferred. 
Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting firm and corporate experience. 
Fluent in Mandarin and English
Must understand and appreciate the specific nuances of doing business in China and have direct experience with handling tax affairs in a large corporate enterprise. 
Strong preference is given to someone with experience working for a major multinational group in China. 
Broader international experience a plus, but not required.
