As a Cisco Service Provider SE, you will provide technical leadership of the sales engagement. You will drive sales opportunity at a major North American service provider in support of their entertainment video services. You will establish strong relationships within the customer organization and work to become the trusted advisor to those who influence technology and vendor/partner selection.  You will also understand the business drivers behind the technology decisions of your customer, and will be skilled at tying your messaging to the desired business outcomes of your customer.

Who You'll Work With
In this customer-focused role, you will partner directly with one or more strategic account managers and leverage an extended team to position complex software and hardware solutions, focused on solving the business and technical problems of our customer.   In that capacity, you will rely on an extended network of Cisco services professionals and business unit subject matter experts, with the support of your sales leadership/executives.

We are seeking the "SE of tomorrow”, with a foundation in traditional networking technology combined with a command of virtualization, cloud and data center technology. The ideal candidate will be comfortable being immersed in agile processes leveraged within a Dev-Ops model in order to help our customers achieve the value of Cisco's software and solutions more quickly and simply.  This role requires operating across a broad spectrum of skills; from distilling complex technical information when messaging to a CxO-level audience, to installing and configuring software for demonstration in proof-of-concept lab environments.

Requirements of the SE role:

The candidate should excel presenting technical architectures, solutions and products to key customer decision-makers, including Director level and above. He or she should be comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences.

This individual should possess relevant technical background and specific, technical skills applicable to processing and delivery of 
entertainment video.  Background in one or more of the following is desired: 1) video encoding technology, 2) video packaging and origin services technologies, 3) content management systems and 4) content distribution networks. Experience with IP video, OTT, ABR, content security, and satellite distribution architectures is a plus.

The candidate should have experience in software and hardware sales, and should have a working knowledge of common open and proprietary operating systems (IE: Linux, Unix, Windows Server, etc), virtualization and containerization technologies (i.e. VMWare, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes).  

Practical experience in scripting and API integration is desired, and software programming skills are a plus.

This role requires someone who is highly collaborative and who excels when working in a virtual team environment.  The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working across geographic and organizational boundaries.

To succeed in this role requires significant presence on-premise at the customer's site in Los Angeles (25%-75% of working hours depending on activity).  The candidate should be comfortable working “hands-on" in a lab environment when necessary to configure customer demonstrations and proofs of concept, and to troubleshoot issues with IP video flows in lab environment. Some travel is required (mostly in the US; potentially Mexico, Central and South America).

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
• 7+ years-related Pre-Sales experience
• CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred
• Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis required
