Supply Chain Engineer

Job Description

- Coordinates supply chain activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to manage software systems in a cost effective and timely manner.

- Acquires and maintains technical and commercial understanding of products purchased. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.

- Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

- May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis and alternative sourcing.

- Specific responsibilities may vary depending upon the role within the supply chain. Roles can include maintaining contracts, negotiating commercial Agreements, quality standards and systems, creating relevant specifications, and aligning supplier capability requirements.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing with 10+ years of professional experience in project management or complex contracting
- Proven ability to do the following:
• Lead and execute complex Supply Chain Projects with cross domain teams including both
internal and external stakeholders
• Excel at communicating across multiple layers of management both internal and external
• Create and negotiate complex commercial and technical Agreements/contracts
• Ability to partner cross organizationally and influence a diverse group of stakeholders


Preferred Requirements:
• Take the initiative to actively escalate and resolve problems as they are found
• Grow technical and commercial competence in new areas, sometimes very quickly, to
establish credibility and influence with stakeholders
• Tolerate ambiguity in a fast paced environment
• Working knowledge of contract law including leading negotiations to achieve technology,
affordability, and velocity requirements
• Driving supplier performance, requirements, priorities and business strategies
• Experience with Software development life cycle
• Experience with SW licensing, maintenance, and management processes
