What You'll Do 

The primary role of Cisco ASR9K/XR SME is to provide expert support on escalated cases of ILD network from Fault Management Team and verify the service impact of Architectural and Network related changes. Lead the cross-vendor and inter-domain events, analyze the systematic root cause and provide long term tactical solutions.

Troubleshooting and resolution of ASR9K related issues on Service provider domain having strong routing technologies like BGP, ISIS, LDP in ASR9K/ASR1K platforms, expertise in System Integration, Installing and Maintaining & Troubleshooting on various SP networks

Who You Are

  • Implement and manage the IPT (IP Transit) services, Internet exchange (public peering) and private peering for efficient and profitable flow of Internet traffic through the Internet Backbone.
  • Implement and Manage the Global IP/MPLS- based network which offers global products like IP Transit, Layer 2/3VPN, VPLS, Global Ethernet Lease Line and Global Bandwidth.
  • Interact with Global carrier provider to extend transport/transmission services
  • Knowledge on option A and option C NNI (Network to Network interconnect) and international facilities
  • Hands on experience on implementation of NNI connectivity with Global carrier
  • Close interaction with Tier1 global service provider, like Level3, Telia Sonera, PCCW, Singtel , AT&T etc.
  • Hands on experience on Global voice call flow and international roaming services
  • Provide technical support and guidance to fault management team to resolve the chronic faults, cross –vendor / Inter domain issues.
  • Configuration and fault troubleshooting especially on ASR9K routers deployed in ILD network
  • Trending analysis relating to HW and SW defects
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of ILD network and services issues, technologies like L3VPN, Inter AS L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, Multicast, QOS and Routing Protocols
  • Maintain the run-books, to document learnings.
  • Apply the workaround to restore the services.
  • Take up with respective teams like design, planning, configuration etc. for permanent fix.
  • Interface with Cisco TAC and RJIL teams to create and manage problem resolution.
  • Engage Cisco TAC team in case issue is not resolved or interact with FTS/HTTS for the root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Support Cisco TAC/BU to carry out the suggested activity to capture the required logs during problematic condition
  • Preparation, presentation and impact analysis on design changes and Network issues.
  • Communicate and analyze the root cause analysis of incidents and escalated issues.
  • Software management and version tracking of images running across the various Cisco platform in RJIL ILD network
  • Review, edit, and publish Tech Notes, RCAs, and knowledgebase articles
  • Impart knowledge transfer and train the Fault Management & Surveillance Engineers.
