That’s where you come in: we are looking for a dynamic team player to join our Software Engineering team. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Engineering, this position is responsible for planning, designing and delivering a world class platform for video services.



**Key Responsibilities:**



+ Participate in design and architecture phases of development and infrastructure projects.

+ Engineer solutions to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations (both infrastructure and software)

+ Participate in the final review of new installations to include acceptance and performance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.

+ Proactive service analysis to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems and perform preventative resolution.

+ Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures (Problem Records) that adversely affect service delivery.

+ Assume ownership for production problems, work with other team members, developers, and third parties to identify and resolve root cause issues.

+ Perform Tier 3 incident management in development and production environments.

+ Responsible for on call duty in rotating shift with other team members.

+ Participate in the development of criteria for, and evaluation of, equipment and technical service providers, tests and inspection criteria.



**Skills and Experience:**



+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, College degree in an applicable program or equivalent.

+ 5+ years of experience in virtualization design, build and administration with focus on VMWare, Hyper-V, OpenStack.

+ Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services to include AWS and Azure.

+ Strong background in Linux/Unix administration which may include RHEL, CentOS and Solaris.

+ Strong knowledge with automation/configuration management using Chef, Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent.

+ Strong knowledge in virtualization design, implementation, troubleshooting, high availability, performance tuning and virtual development environments.

+ Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in a high availability, highly scalable environment.
