This is truly next generation of Cisco's Service Provider business supporting AT&T Mobility to ensure we are there for our customer, supporting them with emerging technologies likes SDN, Cloud, Data Center, Virtualization, IoT, IoE etc.

What You'll Do

The Solutions Architect (SA) plays a major role in ensuring Cisco is fully integrated and delivering to the expectations of our customers. This position is a key customer facing role where the SA will be working closely with key players throughout an organization from the technical staff through the CXO level.  Through the working relationship with the customer the SA is responsible for ensuring the Cisco and Cisco Advanced Services strategy is conforming to the customer’s current needs and to create innovative solutions to meet these needs.  Additionally, the SA needs to always look at the future with the customer ensuring Cisco is aware of any current pain points and/or growth where potential Cisco solutions and/or Cisco Advance Services offerings can be proposed. 

Day to day activities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provides consultation to solve NMS product and network problems independently 
  • Acts as a point of contact for the problem resolution 
  • Engage with customers to create innovative solutions 
  • Mentor junior engineers 
  • Understanding and utilization of Cisco Best practices and internal processes 
  • Setting up the lab setups to simulate the customer problems and provide the solution to the customer 
  • Provides product training and create intellectual property material

Who You'll Work With

In addition to being aligned with the customer’s strategy the SA needs to be aligned closely with all Cisco Advanced Services teams engaged at the customer.  This involvement includes helping provide clear and concise customer requirements, ensuring the team is working towards the correct solution for the customer, the customer is understanding of the solution proposed by Cisco, and that any potential gap or issue is identified and brought to the attention of the correct Cisco team members and ultimately the customer.  The SA will also provide key account updates to management while working across functional areas with both IDT Solution Architects and Network Consulting Engineers.

Who You Are

In order to succeed as a Solutions architect, the incumbent should possess the following skills:

  • Advanced language skills in Spanish and English are required.
  • Technical expert in more than one area with a wide understanding of GSM/LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFI, IPME 
  • Knowledge of ASR 5x00 preferred.
  • CCNA or CCNP or CCIE in DC preferred
  • Experience in Automation
  • Experience with Virtualization (Openstack) 
  • Advanced Unix / Linux Skills (Sysad desired, shell scripting, bash and other common scripting language).
  • Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Out of the box thinking.
  • Team Player
  • Solid Linux/Solaris expertise
  • Intermediate level of experience with Dynamic Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)
  • Expert level knowledge of LTE/VoLTE network architecture
  • Expert level knowledge of StarOS
  • Experienced in Interoperability Testing (IOT) methodology
  • Experienced in System Acceptance Testing: Ensure functionality of all test cases, and troubleshoot and isolate any faults encountered
  • Hands on experience in OSS and SNMP protocol
  • Expert level knowledge of Gx and Gy interfaces
  • Experienced with TCP/IP including Deep Packet Inspection
  • 3 plus years of experience with Service Provider Packet Core networks
