Advanced Services Solution Architect

Role and Responsibilities
The Collaboration Solution Architect is a technical services professional responsible for providing architectural and technical expertise in Collaboration technologies for high value opportunities. Collaborates with the NCEs', partners and sales teams to develop, design and implement innovative solutions and proposals by leveraging his/her understanding of the customer's business requirements, Cisco Collaboration technologies and services that best meet the customer's needs. Provides a consultative approach to understanding customer / partner business and technical / service requirements within architectural domain, including an advanced knowledge of the competitive landscape.
• Engage after opportunity qualification and agreement of customer to move forward with opportunity
• Work with services pre-sales teams and Business Development Managers scoping, collecting customer requirements and explaining services deliverables and value added.
• Set technical direction for Cisco Advanced Services best practices and functional roles within customer engagements
• Work directly with customers on planning, designing, testing and implementation of collaboration solutions
• Act in a technical team leadership capacity and provide support as the focal point for highly complex customer problems.
• Provide technical guidance to troubleshoot and resolve high complex VoIP issues’
• Assist and support identifying skills and business shortfalls in a customer environment, and participate in establishing programs to address them
• Provide technical qualification in area of architectural domain expertise for opportunity and look for opportunities to leverage Cisco validated design
• Collaborate with customer / partner in developing novel systems architectures based on customer business requirements and create recommendations for BUs
Design and present customized architectures for specific customers / partners and industries within systems specialty• Develop, plan and coordinate with the account team with regard to deliverables and presentations for specific opportunities

• Build collaborative relationships with Account Team internally, and various technology and business groups within customers' organizations to collaboratively shape architecture development in systems specialty
• Provide trial and demonstration support
Professionally present to Cisco's corporate groups, partners, and customer management
• Present Cisco architectural vision and significance at multi-partner and/or multi-customer events using collaboration technology such as Telepresence or WebEx
• Adjust design based on customer / partner negotiation process
• Expected to write technical white papers for new technologies supported by Advanced Services in an effort to develop VoIP network design & architecture best practices for Advanced Services.
• Actively participate in virtual technology teams within Cisco is required.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Segment and Account Teams, customer and partner

Solution and Architectural Selling
• Identify potential gaps in the relevant pieces of the customer's technology and services architecture to create opportunities to enlarge the sales base
• Helps the Account Team and SE community evaluate and prioritize potential Cisco opportunities in your specialty to enhance selling success
• Participate in engagements at appropriate times to provide specialty-specific expertise and address customer / partner issues
• Use customer knowledge to influence BU(s) to create or modify products that maximize sales potential
• Guide team to use Cisco defined processes and tools
• Coordinate with Service delivery teams in various IDT's, Segment teams, Account Team and communities of interest to ensure initiatives in your specialty link to the big picture of the business

Driving the Cisco Vision
• Promote the Cisco vision for your specialty from a customer perspective to multiple audiences and industry outlets
• Articulate the unique value obtained by integrating all of the various Cisco technologies and services in your specialty, identifying potential new applications, based on deep knowledge of Cisco technologies, services, and industry trends
• Identify innovative ways that Cisco advanced and emerging technologies / solutions / services and industry trends in your specialty can be integrated with existing Cisco solutions to provide enhanced customer and partner value

Minimum Qualifications
• CCIE, CCIP, CCDP or equivalent preferred
• Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Cisco Collaboration Technology
• Expert level knowledge in Unified Communications (such as CUCM, CUC, CER, Jabber/Presence, Dial Plan, SIP Trunking, SME, UCCX, SBC, Gateways) and strong knowledge in other areas of Collaboration such as: Business Video, Customer Collaboration (UCCE), Webex, Datacenter, QoS and Cloud/CaaS.
• Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale Cisco Collaboration solutions.
• Large-scale Unified Communications design skills.
• Must possess strong technical account management skills.
• Experience in Professional Services planning, designing, implementation and high-level support.
• In-depth knowledge in operations, management, availability and capacity planning of Cisco Collaboration solutions.
• The position involves travel ranging from 40-60% over the long-term, including short periods of 100% weekday travel.
