Cisco seeks to hire Software Engineers, senior Software Engineers, Technical Leaders and Managers to lead engineering groups in the architecture, design, development and engineering of hardware and software products. The ideal candidate provides a demonstrated ability to manage projects with minimal supervision, driving a cross-functional team and leveraging technical knowledge and project management experience. This position provides a great opportunity for developing the foundation for technical-level career advancement.

Who You Are

 

Responsible for technical decisions required on a project. May have intra-departmental impact important to success of company. Responsible for technical content of design reviews and code walkthroughs. May define system specification/unit functional specification or be responsible for it. Helps engineers find ways to attack new or difficult problems. Develops or consults on internal training programs. Actively researches efforts in multiple areas in search of major synergies for engineering Cisco-wide .Establishes well-defined technical direction and aligns the direction with that of Cisco. Proposes technical direction for major engineering initiatives and ensures that all work related to initiatives is technically compatible. Develops or reviews major interface specifications. Identifies possible mismatches between Cisco direction and future market changes. Applies highly advanced networking principles, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Ability to provide technical leadership at the company-wide level. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others including management.

 

As a recognized technical expert, provides prototype project leadership and functional guidance to engineers and other internal departments. Technical, Industry and Business Knowledge Partnership, influence Others Champion Improvements Demonstrate Leadership. Think Globally.

 

In addition to the skills also interfaces cross-functionally and leads synergistic teams with a full range of competencies and skills. Customer resolution requires excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Responsible for technical decisions that will affect deadlines, overall business operation and Cisco's success. 

 

You will be viewed as a technical resource throughout the organization and across various functions. Also serves as a consultative technical partner to client groups, integrating functional expertise/experience, business objectives and marketplace factors. Influences and/or changes the thinking of, or gains acceptance of, others. Interfaces cross-functionally and leads collaboration extending beyond workgroup. Exercises broad independent judgment to determine method for issue resolution. Tackles complex issues in creative ways. Problem solving requires originality and ingenuity using knowledge gained during engineering career with little to no manager input. Applies knowledge of Cisco's business strategies to pro- actively anticipate business needs based on industry trends.

 

General Requirements: 

* 2 - 15 years software development experience 

* Experience architecting, designing and implementing complex software systems, working with large teams 

* Excellent L2-L3 networking knowledge and experience designing and implement HW/SW elements.

* Excellent analytical, presentation and decision making skills on system problems and solutions.

* Thorough understanding of software development and test processes, with active participation and results from such practices.

* Independent, proactive and influential, with very good communication skills.



Specific skill requirements:


1.      Automation Network Testing:

-          Mandatory: python, automation, network protocols, L2/L3 knowledge, Grade 7 and above.

-          Optional: Data analytics, virtualization, performance testing

 2.      Python developers:

-          Mandatory: python

-          Optional: automation framework development, cloud development,

 3.      Switching and Routing :

-          Skill: C/C++, Linux, L2L3 protocol development, Datacom development , Routing & Switching development

 

4.        Java

           -    UI : Javascript, HTML, CSS and Frameworks-  (Angular JS, React JS, JQuery)

 Backend :  Core Java, J2EE, Spring & Hibernate (both are Mandatory)

 Domain- Cloud, NMS/EMS (Networking) or any telecom domain

 Fullstack Java

 

 5.      Security :

         Programming language : C/C++, Java, Python, Devtest, Test, Manual Test, Automation Test, Python Automation

     IPsec, L4 to L7 protocols , SSL VPN, Firewall, IKE, Email Security, Web security, IPS/IDS, cloud security, TLS, Secure HTTP, secure E-mail ( PGP and S/MIME), DNS, SSH, FTP, HTTPS, AAA
