Who You'll Work With

The Core Software Group (CSG) develops software across the routing, switch and wireless platform portfolio at Cisco and is investing heavily to transform networking through cutting-edge solutions that will change the way IT is consumed. This means your work will transform our customers' consumption of our systems and solutions from every angle.

Who You Are

Work with a team of motivated A-players to engage with team leads to create innovative solutions, work closely with other developers and software architects to develop best solution. Drive/collaborate with other technical leaders/software engineers on system/functional design, software implementation. Independently able to execute given functionality or features.

Job Responsibilities:

Participate on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco routers that may include one or more of the following list of responsibilities:
* Contribute to subsystem architecture design and write functional specs.
* Write and/or provide input to design specs.
* Develop complex and multiple modules of code
* Debug problems of complex scope at the system level.
* Write unit test plan. Perform subsystem/System level unit tests.
* Identify and resolve problems found during internal verification or testing at customer sites.


Required Qualifications:
* BE/BTECH with EE/CS degree and with 8+ years of experience
* Strong, hands-on knowledge on C programming, data structures, design patterns and algorithms
* Ability to design new data structures and algorithms
* Work Independently. Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
* Follows established processes and contributes to develop new processes.
* In-depth knowledge of one or more of the LAN/WAN and network layer protocols is a must
* In-depth knowledge in Device driver writing and systems knowledge is a plus
* Sound knowledge of operating systems concepts
* Working experience in IP routing and security is highly desirable

* Experience with IPSEC, SSL and/or other network security products
* Good Knowledge in TCP/IP and related networking protocols
* Good knowledge of VPN, IPSEC, SSL, PKI, IKE products is preferred
* Full use and application of standard networking theories, concepts, and techniques and develop new concepts and techniques.
* Experience in identifying and redesigning code to address system scale and performance issues.
* Understand product level architecture and ability to contribute to the bigger architecture in the areas of modules of ownership
* Proficiency with internal interfaces and process interactions.
* Exposure to complete SDLC
