What You'll Do

You are responsible for design and implementation of scalable and reliable software modules that revolutionize how network devices are managed.

You implementing complex software components that enables SDN for a variety of embedded devices. Other responsible include breaking down the tasks and divide up work within the team & mentoring junior engineers.

You are a self starter who isn't afraid to dive in and work your way a large code base. You believe in building software that has easy to use APIs, simple to maintain dependencies and well-defined software layers. You are able to set an example for the team because you have high standard the code you develop. You can collaborate with other teams to ensure that the overall system achieves the highest level of performance and scalability without compromise maintainability. Finally, but not last, is that you lead by example with your easy-going personality to facilitate technical discussions to reach a conclusion without making anything personal.

Job Specifications

  • You'll define next generation of SDN solutions for enterprise networks
  • Implement latest SDN protocols such as YANG-Push and analytics collection
  • Enable the next generation of cloud managed network solutions

Key Skills Desired

  • In depth knowledge of algorithm, software design using C/C++
  • Deep understanding in data-structure and algorithm used in embedded application design
  • Experience with technologies used in network device management (YANG, Netconf/Restconf, GRPC)
  • Excellent programming and debugging experience on Linux

Who You'll Work With

The team provides NETCONF/RESTCONF/YANG infrastructure support and drives cohesive Netconf/Yang strategy for Cisco routing and switching platforms across XR, XE / Polaris, and NX-OS. The team is made of a group of manageability and programmability passionate engineers with diversity of skill sets from routing protocol to GUI. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities and skills.

Who You Are

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, or a related major such as Math or Physics
  • 5 years software development experience
  • Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering with an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Strong knowledge of programming and scripting languages
  • Experience with software algorithms and data-structures that are used to create scalable and efficient runtime behaviour
  • Significant knowledge of C, makefiles and source code repositories
  • Expert knowledge in designing software with multi-threading, event handling and state machines
  • Good knowledge on modern operating system design such as multitasking, kernels, filesystems, etc.
  • Possess creative analytical skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining excellent relationships with the extended team
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
