Software Application Engineer

Job Description

The Software Application Engineer works with the world's leading software companies, Service Providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers to enhance the performance their applications on Intel processor based client systems. The Software Application Engineer will have the opportunity of influencing not just the software that end users use on their platforms but also have an excellent opportunity to influence Intel's next generation ingredient features including graphics, Input/Output, wireless technologies etc. by interacting with teams in Intel's business groups.

Roles and responsibilities may include the following:

- Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products.

- Work directly with companies that develop applications software, focuses on enabling and optimization of 3rdparty software applications.

- Code may be used in a wide variety of commercial or end-user applications. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavior skills:

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to interface with and influence, management and other stakeholders, including peer Software Application Engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work as part of a team.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

At the bachelor level applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

Minimum of 6 months experience with:

  • Software Development including application design and development
  • Programming with C/C++ C#
  • Standard Algorithms

Preferred Qualifications

Software performance skills performance profiling.

Performing algorithmic or low level code optimizations in C/C++ applications.

Experience with multi-threading and multi-tasking concepts for applications.

Experience in Qt, Java*, .NET*, and C , distributed computing paradigms such as WebServices, XML.

Familiarity with the Linux environment.
