Job Description

Software architect is responsible for the technical direction of a project. Makes high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Performs pathfinding and surveys technologies. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.


Qualifications

We are looking for a talented engineer strengthening the modem algorithm & performance team. Our highly dynamic group develops top-notch modem solutions for the 3G-HSDPA standard that are used in world-class smartphones, tablets, and wireless modules. Our charter is to bring great ideas to products! This exciting job opening covers a wide range of activities: - Leading and mentoring a team for System Architecture design - Define and document PHY modem requirements and use cases including breakdown into HW and FW components and sub-components for Intel's cellular modem products - Define and optimize the architecture of the PHY modem system, including HW/FW Split. - Provide architecture and interface specifications - Develop concepts to improve performance power and silicon area of our products in close cooperation with customers - Develop test strategies in cooperation with the component and system verification team - Provide support to the HW and FW development teams in an international environment - Coordinating and leading cross-functional activities algorithm/design/implementation/verification - Drive and conduct reviews with the development team - Proposing efficient architectures for product implementation- Advise project and program management in planning - Develop and present technical product documentation to customers and for training - Closely follow the 3GPP standardization process Qualifications:- University education - Electrical engineering / Information Technology - Master's degree required, PhD or experience is a plus - Experience with WCDMA, HSPA, LTE systems- Experience with physical layer receiver architecture, FW and DSP FW implementation - Leading a team for system design - Experience in receiver algorithms for wireless communication systems - Knowledge in software development/software engineering with C/C++, Matlab, GIT, Unix, scripting - Team-player & good communication skills - Solution oriented, self-driven and entrepreneurial hands-on way of working
