Silicon Photonics Product Test Engineer

Job Description
As a NPI product/yield engineer, you will be part of Intel SPPD NPI team supporting the transfer and maintenance of optical transceiver products from NPI to high volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:Interface closely with NPI and R&D team during product development to understand the design of the assigned product Be a key stakeholder for transferring products from design centers to manufacturing facilitiesTraining factory personnel and providing product related documentation e.g. debug trees, test procedures, cost modeling, yield reports, etc.Work extensively with test software and hardware engineers to develop the test and assembly processes, in process monitoring, and test systems used to test the optical modules or subassembliesDefine test parameters based on product and design specificationsCollect and manage product data and generate yield reports to drive understanding and resolution of root cause to yield/quality issuesWork closely with assembly process engineering team to drive overall process control for down steam yield enhancement


Qualifications:Hands on working knowledge of optoelectronic and fiber-optics components and assembliesUnderstand the properties of various types of lasers and photodiodes. Ability to understand and optimize specifications from device level to module levelFamiliarity with optical and electrical test methods. The ideal candidate should have the experience in automation development of the optoelectronic device setup and the testing verification of optical/electrical parameters, optoelectronic component assembly process wire bonding, die attach, flip-chip, etc., optical alignment, and in-process control and monitoring. Proficient in SPC, FMEA, and design of experimentsAbility to analyze the impact of changes to production specifications whether they are electrical, optical, or mechanicalAbility to analyze yield data and identify root cause of failures whether they are a result of design, process, materials, or test repeatabilityStrong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and effectively interact with othersExcellent planning and organizational skillsBS 5 yrs experience or MS 2+ yrs experience in EE/Engr. Physics or equivalent field.
