What You'll Do

You will work for SBTG-Small Business Technology Group including Switch, WAP & Router products. We are seeking an experienced Product Engineers to reside in Shanghai, China. He/She can provide new product and on-going engineering support for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit to end of life.


In this role, you will be responsible for the following:


·         Review/Define the ETRD on supplier chain aspect. Provide support on new project RFQ and influence the supplier selection.

·         Involve Product development, review and monitor the known bug list and its final solution.

·         Review and monitor the readiness of each proto build. Ensure ODM follow factory DFT/DFM and design for automation process. Instruct ODM to debug and monitor the failure from production and escalate to BU for optimization.

·         Identify and assess SW components & systems architecture for sourcing and alignment to BOM

·         Manages electrical and mechanical technical changes proposal from ODM by ECO and MCN process.

·         Provide escalation support to GMO/PQE/ODM teams.

·         Leverage ODM and Cisco internal source to drive on any value engineering opportunity.


Who You Are


Bachelors of Science - Electrical Engineering with 8+ years' relevant experience, or equivalent.

You will need the required following skills:

  • Understanding of system hardware architectures, design concepts, schematics of product.
  • Understanding of system level verification (EDVT/MDVT).
  • Have knowledge on different component level qualification.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end process for board assembly including mechanical assembly and product testing.
  • Investigating and evaluating new tools, equipment and manufacture automation that will improve the quality of the product and efficiency of the group.
  • Ability to apply Six Sigma statistical analysis to drive design decisions
  • Self-motivated, willing to manage day-to-day tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team and ability to multi-task.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English. Good interpersonal skills.

It is a plus if you also have the following Desired Skills:

Masters of Science - Electrical Engineering with 7+ years' relevant experience, or equivalent.

  • Knowledge on Switch, Wireless AP and Routing products
  • PCB fabrication process and technology
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding SW development process.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Trouble shooting and debug experience
