Description + Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.

+ Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

+ Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

+ Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

+ Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.

+ Configures and manages Linux, Unix and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

Senior Linux/Unix Engineer:

+ RedHat (RHEL) server builds/management

+ Yum repository builds/management

+ Kickstart builds/management

+ Logical Volume Manager

+ LDAP / Central Authentication

+ NFS share builds/management

+ VMware data stores build/management

+ Samba Linux/Windows directory management

+ NetApp Experience Planning/Deploying Storage

+ Patch Cycle Management pref. with regression testing experience

+ Disaster Recovery Technologies planning/management

+ Ability to work independently and learn new technologies

+ Ability to lead projects start to finish (requirements gathering, design, configure, test, deploy, documentation)

+ Ability to troubleshoot and analyze Linux/Unix systems and networks efficiently

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Ten (10) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Required Clearance: Applicant must be a US citizen and have a current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Desried: Telecommunications experience; Linux Professional Institute -Level 1 (LPI-1) or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Sun Certified Systems Administrator (SCSA); VMWare Certified Professional (Vsphere 5) (VCP5); Computer Technology Industry Association - Network + (Network +); Computer Technology Industry Association - Storage + (Storage +)
