Job Description

Join a team of researchers at the Intel Labs/Wireless Communications Research in Hillsboro, Oregon, responsible for research on Information Centric Networking ICN. The research involves developing simulations to demonstrate applications using ICN over wireless networks, and evaluating the performance of the system.

The intern is expected to contribute to designing the simulation framework based on the requirements and setting up the system level simulations for the application. Knowledge of NDNSim and NDN software along with prior experience in those are highly desirable. Experience in integrating NS3 models with NDNSim would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to work on all cutting edge research integrating wireless technologies with ICN.

The candidate is expected to have the following soft skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently, on occasion when required
  • Willing to learn new technologies and skills set


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum requirements:

Must be pursuing PhD in CS or EE.

6 months + experience in:

  • Strong simulation and programming skills in NS3, C/C++, NDNSim
  • Experience in programming
  • NDN Named data networking platforms

Preferred qualifications:

  • Research experience in wireless networking technologies, e.g., WiFi and LTE
