R&D High-Speed Digital Design Intern

Job Description

Graduate Technical Intern within Intel Labs, you will work on research related to novel circuits, architectures, and VLSI technologies for wireless communication, focusing on mixed-signal and digital signal-processing systems and circuits. You will work with senior researchers to help shape Intel Labs research direction and fuel Intel's growth in emerging connectivity and compute market segments.  Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Research in circuits, architectures, and VLSI design of HW IP blocks, subsystems or full SoCs for high-speed wireless digital front-end/digital baseband signal processing systems evaluation of multiple implementation options under given power/performance constraints for new usages and algorithms enabling innovative, energy-efficient SoCs
  • Developing silicon prototypes.
  • Leading/contributing to test-chips including design, verification, modeling, post-Si bring-up.


Qualifications

The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related field.

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant hands-on experience in the following fields:
    • Communication systems theory and/or digital signal processing and data path design.
    • System Verilog or other hardware description languages.
    • MATLAB.
    • Circuit design and validation tools such as Cadence, Synopsys ICC and DC, and ModelSim or VCC.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in digital baseband circuits, filter design and implementation and direct digital synthesis DDS systems.
    • Basic knowledge of Automated Place & Route tools APR for digital layout and timing verification.
