**Must be located in the METRO D.C. area**

  • Act as an overall project lead to coordinate strategic and complex projects across all relevant Public Sector staff members and work closely with them to solve project/process related challenges.
  • Provide regular status updates to all involved Public Sector parties to ensure full clarity and best possible alignment (Management Team, HTOM, Engineers, Customers, etc.)
  • Identify critical risks within the project in time and enthusiastically suggest solution to resolve the issue.
  • Clearly document the project on an ongoing basis to ensure a clear understanding regarding roles and responsibilities within the team as well as at the interface to organizations and engaged partners.
  • Identify and isolate key project/process challenges which need to be resolved to achieve improved efficiency within the Public Sector team
  • Create Current State Analysis (e.g., data flow diagrams, business problem statements, cost-benefit analysis, and business process flow diagrams) Solution Proposal (e.g., FRD, mock-ups, needs analysis, conceptual design doc, business process flow diagrams, cost-benefit analysis, and business impact analysis)
  • Prepare Meeting Documentation (e.g., action/to-do lists, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes)
  • Prepare PLC Documentation (e.g., use-cases, business cases, conceptual design doc, IT value cases, risk analysis, partner analysis, test plans, and testing results)
  • Prepare Status and Tracking Documentation (e.g., progress reports, team updates, status requests, and resolved issues lists)


  • Apply understanding of Client/Cisco Business (e.g., use standard methodologies, advocate customer position).
  • Contextualize Impacts (e.g., identify implications of problems/issues/events on internal and external business processes).
  • Identify Opportunities for Public Sector Process Improvement (e.g., optimization, innovation)
  • Translate Public Sector Objectives to Strategy (e.g., support projects, provide experienced advice, supply portfolio alignment)


  • Build Client Relations (e.g., establish productive and reciprocal relationships with Public Sector Management Team, Engineers, ORMs, Customers, and other partners).
  • Client: (e.g., facilitate meetings/sessions).
  • Team Communications (advocate client positions, use team).
  • Educate Client and Ensure Compliance (e.g., PLC, standard methodologies, etc.)

  • 10+ years related experience as a project manager within the Services / IT / SP industry
  • Requires BS Business, CS or equivalent plus 10+ years experience, with minimum 5 years project lead/management. Professional PM Certification ESi, PMP or MS/MBA desired.
