join the Operational Visibility & Tool Unification team as a Principal-Advanced
Technical Support individual contributor.
The role will support video delivery at the highest level for the
DIRECTV linear, DTV NOW, and Next Generation content delivery platform.



+ Responsible for exploiting thefull potential of monitoring and control tools by integrating their specializedvalue into a solution that provides a simple and unified end to end view of thecomplex and diverse systems that make up the DIRECTV Next Generationplatform.

+ Optimize toolsets to provideoperational visibility and the business insight needed to ensure we aremeasuring and operating in a state of continuous improvement.

+ Provide feedback and directionwhen selecting vendor solutions that are the best fit in terms of unified compatibility,effectiveness and overall sustainability.

+ Advocate for the operationalsupport teams with enterprise class solutions that provide easy to consumevisual insight curated for their areas of expertise with actionable exceptionnotifications and decision support that encourages speed to remediation whilesafeguarding from errors.



**Your work matters. We’re looking for a Tools Integrator for:**



Working with unifying diverse
monitoring and control solutions to provide event correlation based on Time,
Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. Understand the day to day needs of an
operations team and apply an environment that supports driving out errors
within a complex, dynamic and expansive platform and provide a path empowering
them to grow in efficiency and effectiveness.
Interact effectively with vendor technical experts and internal
operational support groups to advocate for and assure existing and developing operational
needs are met. This role requires significant
knowledge of signal and transactional flows and associated monitoring and
control tools for Next Generation content
delivery product lines that span from internal infrastructure to virtual
infrastructure on unmanaged networks and public clouds.

+ You have an operational background

+ Consideredan expert in large scale Production performance visibility solutions

+ You havemastered the concept of Site Reliability

+ Adept at optimizingmonitoring tools to provide value versus noise

+ Arefamiliar with micro-service architectures, decoupled systems and how to monitorthem

+ Have apassion for enabling and optimizing machine to machine communication

+ Strivefor simplicity in the solutions you build for ease of use by others

+ Are adeptat gathering and correlating time series data to drive action

+ You focuson scalable big picture business solutions

+ Bringexperience with the following: DevOps, Agile, Open Source, AWS, Azure,SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Prometheus

+ Arecapable of defining unified tooling and service configuration solutions



**Responsibilities:**



+ Partner with Architecture team todefine the path forward for instant service knowledge and visibility within acombined cloud and on premises environment

+ Develop the strategy and method for integratingdeveloping or existing monitoring tools ensuring objectives and operationalrequirements are being satisfied

+ Provide thetechnical leadership skills required to plan and implement closed loopremediation for issues

+ Develop eventcorrelation that spans QoE and QoS toolsets for E2E visibility

+ Integrate andlifecycle manage large scale CMDB and alert correlation workflows

+ Develop and owncomplex technical naming conventions



**Qualifications:**



+ Bachelor of Science in CS, EE,Math, Physics, MIS, or equivalent work experience

+ 8-12 yearsof advanced experience and successful track record in tooling and monitoringconcepts for large scale video collection and delivery platforms

+ 8-12 years of developmentexperience with the following:Linux, Unix, MySQL, Cassandra, Apache, Tomcat, PHP, Perl, Python,Java, JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS, JSON, SOAP, REST APIs, and SNMP

+ 6-8 years of experience withLinux/Unix system administration, Virtual machine administration, CiscoSwitches, Networking Routing, NAT, IP Protocols, MySQL/Cassandra databaseadministration, Tomcat/Apache Web Server administration, DHCP, DNS, NIS,CARP, Apache Load Balancing, and Firewalls

+ 2-4 years ofexperience working in an operational support environment

+ Proficientin Layer 1, 2 and 3 Protocols

+ Advancedunderstanding of Network Management and Performance
