Principal Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description
Oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation for SoC System on a Chip development. Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Defines module interfaces/formats for simulation. Performs Logic design for integration of cell libraries, functional units and subsystems into SoC full chip designs, Register Transfer Level coding, and simulation for SoCs. Contributes to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Performs all aspects of the SoC design flow from highlevel design to synthesis, place and route, timing and power to create a design database that is ready for manufacturing. Analyzes equipment to establish operation infrastructure, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. May also review vendor capability to support development.


Qualifications

As a Principal Hardware Design Engineer in the Intel PSG CTO Office you will innovate the technology we will use on our future FPGA products, from concepts to prototypes. You will be an essential part of a small applied research and advanced development team creating and proving out technology to grow Intel's competitive advantages. We pathfind new approaches in teamwork with other Intel advanced technology groups, and with select partners in industry and academia. In this role you will span from microarchitecture to detailed silicon implementation to system bring up - this is a hands on development role for a highly skilled hardware engineer with background in IO design, IP integration, signal and power integrity, debugging and problem solving.QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant work experience.Strong skills in electronics system design, chip and module level development.Expertise in IP integration to satisfy commercial and military use models.Ability to span development tasks from architecture exploration to modeling to lab debug.Experience with high speed IO design for wireline and wireless systems, including high speed signal integrity and power integrity, and transistor level design tradeoffs of area, power and performance.Expertise in design for test, device level back-end verification, behavioral modeling and sub-system verification.Expertise in firmware and board level support for wired and wireless on FPGA subsystems. Broad CAD tool design background required.Knowledge on SW requirements and models for industry eco-system proliferation.Can clearly express concepts in presentations, specifications and reports.
