Description AT&T CDO is seeking an experienced hands-on Principal Advanced Analytics Developer with the chops to design and develop advanced analytics products for the mobile wireless / video entertainment market that leverage a unique rich device-sourced dataset to deliver unprecedented value to our customers.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about and have experience of developing Big Data Advanced Analytics for the mobile industry (preferred, but other domains/industry experience considered), modern-day frameworks, tools and languages, such as Apache Spark, Scala, Apache Zeppelin, and fluent in software development best-practices (e.g. OOA/OOD, Agile/Scrum methods, test-driven development, etc.).

As an integral member of the Analytics development team, you will specify, design and develop critical mobile key performance insights, transformations, aggregations and Machine Learning models within our Big Data Mobile Intelligence Platform (in batch, on-demand and streaming execution modalities) that address specific market needs.

You will thrive in creating solutions to real world problems, and seeing the results of your work deployed at truly impressive scales within AT&T for a variety of use cases and customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and software skills, be proficient in object-oriented analysis and design using Java/Scala, and have the opportunity to work with large-scale mobile data sets in a Big Data environment, to enable complex industry-wide problems to be solved innovatively by applying cutting edge solutions, machine learning techniques and models.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

- Capture and elaborate analytics solution requirements, working with customers and product managers

- Work with cross-functional teams, such as Product management, Platform, Operations and Mobile device engineering to elaborate on functional requirements/designs, based on the product level requirements

- Design and develop advanced analytics software solutions and models architected for re-use and able to run at Big Data production scales from millions of mobile device end-points

- Take ownership of the analytics solution from concept/requirements thru to customer delivery

- Participates in all phases of the analytics development process (exploratory analysis, modeling, development, test, communication) creating descriptive, inference and predictive analytics

- Collaborates with other software engineers, data scientists & QA to create solid technical designs, and robust, maintainable and testable implementations

**Key Competencies and Skills:**

- Commercial experience in professional product software development design and implementation

- Commercial programming experience in hands-on object-oriented analysis, design, development and debug using Java (mandatory), Scala (desirable), etc.

- Experience and interest in advanced analytics, machine learning, data science. Applying machine learning algorithms to real BIG data, extremely desirable

- Experience of developing software utilizing Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, HDFS

- Experienced and committed to delivering high-quality software using industry best practices (e.g., test-driven development, Agile product development methods, Continuous Integration, DevOps, etc.)

- Regular working knowledge of UNIX, and industry tools; Git, Eclipse or IntelliJ IDE, Jenkins, and Apache Spark, Apache Zeppelin, R/RStudio (desired but not essential), Python

- Knowledge or exposure to Mobile Wireless technologies and protocols (e.g. LTE, UMTS, VoLTE, etc.) desired, but not essential

- Organized, proactive and self-starter, with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills

- Collaborative / team player

- Thirst for continuous learning and desire to look for innovative and creative solutions to problems

- Highly motivated to work within a close nit fast-paced agile product development team, working with local and remote teams, as part of the larger Chief Data Office Business Unit and AT&T family

**Education and Qualifications:**

BSCS, EE, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent (advanced degree prefer)
