PMIC/Envelope Tracking System Engineer (m/f)

Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for the definition and system integration of Power Management IC and/or Envelope Tracking (ETIC) solutions for RF PAs.

Your main tasks will be to:

- Define, align and break down the product requirements

- Define the PMIC/ETIC architecture and its operation in the system and with the RF transceiver / RF frontend components

- Trade and track performance, cost, PCB area KPIs

- Write product specifications for design teams, SW and validation teams

- Define the programming model of the PMIC/ETIC in collaboration with the SW architecture and implementation teams

- Contribute to the roadmap definition

- Drive innovation and new IP development projects

- Define the IP and component verification plan

- Lead the system integration and validation

- Support the customer design-ins and act as one of the key technical counterparts for the customers


- Technical expert (Ph.D. / Master / Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering) in power management and/or RF for mobile products

- At least 5 years experience in system/concept engineering or system integration

- Deep understanding in Power Delivery requirements for modem

- Understanding of RF and PA requirements

- Background in SW Architecture

- RF experience in general with focus on TX, RFFE Control and Timing

- Knowledge in 3GPP cellular standard

- Very good team work and communication skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Proactive and autonomous working ability

- Fluent in both spoken and written English

- Fluent in German is beneficial

- Verification methodology

- Good knowledge in at least 3 of the following areas:

  • Mobile platform architecture and components
  • Power Management for portable devices
  • Cellular RF (2G/3G/4G/5G)
  • RF PA operation
  • Envelope Tracking
  • High efficiency DCDC converters
  • RF performance measurements
  • PMIC
  • Digital Signal Processing (e.g. distortion)
