Physical Design Engineer

Job Description
Creates bottomsup elements of chip design including but not limited to FET, cell, and blocklevel custom layouts, FUBlevel floor plans, abstract view generation, RC extraction and schematictolayout verification and debug using phases of physical design development including parasitic extraction, static timing, wire load models, clock generation, customer polygon editing, autoplace and route algorithms, floor planning, fullchip assembly, packaging, and verification. Troubleshoots a wide variety up to and including difficult design issues and applied proactive intervention. Schedules, staffs, executes and verifies complex chips development and execution of project methodologies and/or flow developments. Requires expansive knowledge and practical application of methodologies and physical design.In this position you will lead and contribute to the design and development of Intel's multimode cellular modem baseband 2G/3G/LTE/5G.You will be part of a talented team of engineers that takes designs from RTL to complete physical implementation, in a fast-paced technically challenging environment.


Qualifications

BS or MS with experience in high performance ASIC/SOC physical design. Strong expertise in the RTL2GDSII flow development or design implementation in leading process technologies 28nm and below. Good understanding of the RTL2GDSII concepts related to synthesis, place & route, CTS, timing convergence, layout closure, UPF based power methodology, etc. Strong working experience with tools like ICC, Primetime, DC, StarRC, Redhawk etc used in the RTL2GDSII implementation. Strong knowledge and experience in Block-level and/or Full-chip Floor-planning, power planning, and Physical verification. Experience with low power design features and flows. Well versed with timing constraints, STA and timing closure Intel flow knowledge preferred. Expertise on high frequency clocking methodologies and good automation skills in PERL, TCL, tool specific scripting would be an added advantage. The ideal candidate should exhibit the following traits: Highly motivated technical expert with good communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills. Ability to multi-task and flexibility to work in global environment. Good communication skills and strong motivation for customer support.Qualifications: BS or MS with 3-15 years of experience in ASIC/SOC Physical Design.
