Job Description

Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) team as a Persistent Memory Software Architect!

As a Persistent Memory Software Architect, you will help create one of the most exciting and disruptive new additions to the Intel Server Platform Architecture.  You will work with leading Server Software Vendors, Cloud Service Providers, and the Open Source Development community to design Persistent Memory into server software stacks.  You will work internally with Intel platform architects to solve some the challenging aspects of designing 3D-Xpoint-based Persistent Memory into the Intel server platform architecture.  You will also lead development of software prototypes and open source contributions through a combination of hands-on development and technical guidance to junior developers.

In this position you will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities within this business group as well as future possible opportunities with other business groups within Intel.

The Data Center Group (DCG) drives new products technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. The group is a worldwide organization that develops the products and technologies that power nine of every 10 servers sold worldwide. 


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 9+ years of industry experience, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 6+ years of industry experience, or a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 4+ years of industry experience.

- 7 plus years of experience developing server system software in the areas of databases, filesystems, and operating systems.

- 3 plus years of experience providing technical guidance to junior software developers.

- 1 plus year of experience developing in the open source development process.

- 1 plus year of experience defining and documenting software architectures and working within an Agile development process.

- 1 plus year of experience developing with one or more cloud Platform-as-a-Service layers is desired.

 

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree preferred.

- Strong problem solving skills and ability to clarify ambiguity.

- Clear, concise communication and a collaborative personality.
