What You'll Do 
The Advanced Services Solution Validation Services team is focused on providing Network Architecture and Design Validation services to support the Cisco customers in an effort to mitigate deployment risk for new deployments, technology and accelerate new technology adoption. Full scale Customer networks are created to fully validate technologies and include a cross section of Cisco platforms and software that need to work together seamlessly in order to demonstrate the expected value of the services and features that will solve the Cisco 3.0 customers' networking and communication requirements. Cisco is searching for an experience consulting and test engineer to work as part of a team testing and proofing ACI, cloud orchestration, validating custom SDN applications for network orchestration, and validation applications running in a cloud environment directly with customers. 

Who You'll Work With 
This is a dynamic team working on new solution validation. Here, you'll be developing use cases, design emulated network topology, execute and report to customer on your findings. You'll need to be ready to collaborate with end customers, sales, services and development engineering, acting as a bridge between them while supporting each group's priorities. Understand complex designs and configurations, detail test requirements and seamless reporting. You'll own the responsibility to build client confidence to deploy such a solution. You will drive design and requirement discussion and influence partners on solutions being recommended. 

Who You Are
Play an active role in the design, development, and testing of applications in a cloud environment * Plan and execute migration of application(s) to virtual cloud environment based of Openstack * Collaborate with co-located and remote colleagues to solve technical issues. * Validate large-scale application workflows in a cloud architecture * Develop and execute tests, log and track issues and drive them to resolution with verification of bug fixes, document test results and research findings. * Develop software/scripts as needed to assist in the systems validation process. Minimum Qualifications * BS in computer science/engineering or a related field * Master's Degrees and CCNA R&S and/or CCNA DC are a plus * Ideal candidate will be able to quickly ramp up on new technologies outside of comfort zone and think at scale. * Candidates must possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams. * Candidates should be able to use problem solving techniques to identify, scope, and resolve difficult, intermittent, and other technical issues at scale. * Hands on experience migrating and/or deploying application / application pools to include SAP HANA, 3-tiered web apps * Hands on with one of the following cloud computing platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Rackspace Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc  * Experience with provisioning and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, cobbler, or Juju. * Candidates should have some experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Bash. Python experience is strongly preferred. * Expert familiarity with cloud computing concepts including virtualization, web services API's, elastic infrastructure, distributed data storage (database, block, object), multitenancy, and metered usage patterns. * Hands on SQL/NoSQL DB administration / experience is a must - Oracle, MongoDB, Casandra, Oracle, Mysql, etc. * Familiarity with L2 overlay technologies such as VXLAN or NVGRE is a plus. * Familiarity with basic networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting) is required. * Candidates must have an excellent working knowledge of Linux. Experience with multiple distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc), networking (bonding, bridging, iptables, vlans, OVS, etc), virtualization (KVM, libvirt, etc), and server software (Apache, , NFS, MySQL and/or Galera, MongoDB, etc) are all strongly desirable. * Experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and Nexus is a plus * Experience with block, file, and object storage systems such as Swift, Ceph, SAN, NAS is a plus. Experience with Ceph and Swift is a plus.
