Modem Performance Test Engineer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be working in the modern performance KPI test team located in San Diego.

The main assignment of the position will consist in creating and operating a novel verification system focusing on RF and baseband integration challenges for a market leading wireless modem product.

Some of the responsibilities on  this role but not limited are:

-Define RF and Baseband KPIs and test procedures.

-Implement and maintain test cases.

-Execute test cases and report results to customer.

-Replay the field issues by using the lab equipment

-Discussion and debugging issues with system engineers and developers.

The candidate must be independent, have a self-driven personality and the will to take responsibilities and go beyond expected requirements.

Capacity to execute and deliver results steadily are key as well as efficient oral communication and ability to express complex technical issues.

The incumbent will have many opportunities to grow and diversify competencies.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

  • Master or/and Ph.D in electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering.
  • Proven experience/knowledge of 3GPP protocols in LTE, 3G & 2G with a focus on physical layer aspects.
  • Understanding of basic LTE physical performance impactors such as MIMO spatial multiplexing, receiver diversity, wireless channel, modulation, coding
  • Very good programming skills Python, optionally other object oriented language
  • Very good programming skills with Matlab.
