Modem Hardware Designer

Job Description

Join Intel as part of the Base Band & SoC Development group in iCDG Intel's Communication and Devices Group. We are looking for experienced Modem Hardware Designers.

In this position you will contribute to the development of application specific processors for Intel's multimode cellular modems.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Designing high performance signal processing engines.
  • Designing application specific instruction-set processors.
  • Developing micro-architecture specifications.
  • Designing high performance semi-custom data-paths
  • Designing memory subsystems, NOCs and specialized interconnects
  • Bus-interface units and other functional units for processors
  • Participate in design and test-plan reviews, Power and performance analysis

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, PhD preferred in addition to the following minimum qualifications.

  • 7+ years' experience designing multi-million gate ASICs in advance process nodes
  • 5+ years' experience designing cellular modem ICs is required
  • 7+ years' experience with front-end design and integration tasks including lint, CDC, synthesis, and ECO
  • 7+ years experience with lower design in advance process nodes.
  • Excellent programming skills:  Verilog/SystemVerilog and C/C++/SystemC, etc.
  • 5+ years' Knowledge of industry standard toolsets in the areas of logic synthesis, timing closure, design for test techniques
  • Experience with power analysis using power artist and PTPX

Preferred Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of processor micro-architecture
  • Strong theoretical background in Digital Signal Processing
