Mechanical Technician (1 year contract)

Job Description

Mechanical- Setup and run experimental testing on SSDs- Collect and analyze data in JMP- Using Allegro and SolidWorks, develop prototype fixtures and hardware for experimental testing setups.- Create and/or edit mechanical drawings.- Use various metrologies to perform analysis on new SSD component parts, perform data analysis, and provide reports.- Document test procedures and summary of measurement results.- Instrument the SSD samples for measurements, which will include attaching strain gages on the drives and ensure the gages are functional before measurements can be taken. Thermal- Prepare the SSD samples for measurements, which will include installing firmware onto the drive and ensuring the drive is functional before measurements can be taken. - Instrument the SSD samples with thermocouples for thermal measurements, setup equipment for measurements, and collecting thermal measurements on the SSD samples. - Run experimental thermal testing on SSD samples per provided test plan.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience •A.A. in Mechanical or any other technical degree. •1+ year experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing GD&T some experience performing tolerance analysis on assembly stack up •1+ experience with CFD modeling using FloTherm for thermal analysis perform model correlation •Demonstrate good understanding of mechanics of materials
