Ø Participate (may take on a lead role) on a project with a team of engineers involved in mechanical and/or thermal design and development of Cisco products. Requires use of a strong background in mechanical and/or thermal engineering, design, development, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities:

Ø Represent Cisco to customers and the rest of the industry in the development and deployment of internetworking solutions.

Ø Contribute innovative ideas for multiple module architecture.

Ø Define product internal/external interfaces.

Ø Develop complex designs independently.

Ø Write complete functional and design specs independently.

Ø Write portions of product spec.

Ø Lead development of subsystems.

Ø Contribute to the development of project goals, schedules, and resource planning.

Ø Develop systems test plans.

Ø Perform complex system level tests.

Ø Interface with other functional groups (Compliance, Safety, Manufacturing etc.)

Ø Evaluate and recommend tools

Ø Solves complex problems at the system level.

Ø Define product level test and simulation strategy.

Ø Participate in Cisco’s Patent Program.

Ø Designs and develops advanced thermal/ structural solution to meet the critical performance requirements Resolves issues with CAD and Manufacturing Engineers in developing new boards.

Ø Designs board level simulation tests.

Ø Contribute towards forecasting and ordering the lab equipment requirements

Ø In addition to ME-2, take full responsibility in all chassis and tray design

Ø Develop schedule and manage medium to large size tasks

Ø Proficient in geometric tolerances, and familiar with DFx (DFA/DFM etc.)

Ø Design and conduct special test and problem solving

Ø Be a mentor and train junior engineers
