What You'll Do?

You form the bedrock of engineering talent. With a flair for crafting firmware modules, you have a hawkish eye when writing and reviewing code. You make sure nothing falls through the cracks, and implementation and design leaves less space for challenge. You guide your juniors in their efforts. You are the right hand person for your technical leaders when it comes to the nitty gritty of code. In short, you design, write, code and test blocks that make for nothing less than a masterpiece.

SP access team focus on a wide range of products starting from cell site routers to pre-aggregation and aggregation roles in the network. Our products are primarily targeted to Mobile backhaul market, carrier ethernet and TDM markets. Majority of the mobile operators in India, EU and US are using the products built by this team. SP access team in India is fully responsible for Design and development for all the products.

We work on all aspects of developing these boxes from ROMMON, Operating System, system infrastructure, Interface cards, drivers to forwarding features like L2/L3 protocols, MPLS, Segment routing, VPLS. We work on various technology areas like L2/L3 protocols, MPLS, Segment routing, VPLS, TDM, Optical & system side drivers.

Who You'll Work With?

You will work with a team of very premier engineers who have between them tens of years of experience. You will also socialise with other groups as product management, marketing, sales, customer support, advanced services. These groups will engage with you to seek mentorship on features, design, and help with answering technical questions. You will also get mentorship from them that will help you design good software in tune with customer expectations.

The position is in the system / IM team, working on system bringup, feature improvements and product sustenance in system technology areas like ROMMON, system infrastructure features like HA, ISSU, Linux OS, device drivers and GigE interface cards. Role of first line technical and team management for a team size of 8-15 team members.

Who You Are?

You should meet these requirements.

             BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MS in CS/EE/IT/ECE, MCA, or similar education, with a minimum score of 70%.

             12-16 years of experience in embedded firmware development

             Proficient in ‘C'

             Hands on with Unix/Linux based development environment

             Articulate, and able to work with a team

             Excellent coding and debugging skills commensurate with experience

             Able to derive design and code based on technical standards

             Able to write comprehensive and focussed design documents

             Able to negotiate with others in a positive way

             Experience in tools like Clearcase, Valgrind, DDTS, GDB etc

             Expert in developing firmware for networking equipment
