Job Description

The Networking Division (ND), which is part of Data Center Group (DCG), is looking for a Linux Network Drivers Engineer, who will contribute to implementation of Intel networking solutions available in a wide range of Linux distributions.

Join us and help us create the next generation of technologies that will shape the future for decades to come.

We are looking for C developers who will engage into making advanced Intel Ethernet networking features a part of Linux distributions, in particular:

  • Development of Intel Ethernet device drivers for a variety of Linux distros
  • Working with the Linux Community in upstream efforts
  • Functionality, performance and quality improvements of Intel Ethernet device drivers
  • Peer-to-peer collaboration within distributed development team


Qualifications

- Ability to develop driver code in Linux kernel space
- Ability to create debugging environment and tools, setup network hardware for reproduction of customer issues.
- Background in networking architecture and networking products - preferably with Intel Ethernet products LOMs and adapters.
- Experience with upstreaming into Linux will be a plus

Beyond that:
- Very good English skills for verbal communication and technical documentation authorship
- Being innovative and curious. Ability to be self-reliant in problem resolution
- Troubleshooting, problem solving, open-minded and customer-focused approach in dealing with development tasks
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Software Development Engineering/Computer Engineering /Computer Science, a degree in similar technical area or relevant experience.
