Intel Module Repair Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

In this position you will be joining Intel Module Repair in AZ as a module development engineer.  

A development engineer is responsible for developing new modules for repair and refurbishment in support of factory tools and cost savings measures, and divides his or her time between research and analysis, hands-on lab work and documentation. Integrates and coordinates multiple schedules to ensure the timely completion of several independent projects.
 


The development project cycle includes:
• Understand failure mode & Fab customer requirements
• Physical module teardowns and rebuilds (vacuum valves, RF matches, robotics, mechanical devices)
• Determine & validate failure modalities and root cause.
• Development of test fixtures and interface programming.
• Training of repair personnel.
• Development of specs and procedures & White Papers.
• Validation of design in factory tools with customer.

Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe work environment and have a strong  ‘safety first’ mindset as top priority at all times
• Reverse-engineer solutions with little to no supporting technical documentation
• Perform in-depth data analysis utilizing large sets of complex test data for the purpose of module characterization, establishing baseline performance, and establishing test/validation limits

• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering hardware design, fabrication, or testing processes and ability to meet schedule and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects with a range of priorities.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and present and explain technical information.
• Proven analytical and structured problem-solving capability.


Qualifications

Qualifications
• Must have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering.
• Must have legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Ability to perform data analysis (regression, Weibull, MTBF, Quality Metrics) for mechanical or robotic device operation.
• Ability to generate graphical representation of failure testing and rebuild functional cycle using standard PC suites and specialized programs (Excel, JMP, 3D modeling)
Preferred
• Leverage FMEA results to identify and develop applicable BOM replacement parts lists and appropriate pre/post-test/validation capability.
• Prepare and present reports to management, team members, and stakeholders on project status.
• Demonstrated aptitude in Electro-Mechanical/Mechanical devices with experience in design, set-up and troubleshooting a plus.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Understands and implements methods of optimizing operational efficiency.
