High Performance Computing (HPC) Industry Technical Specialist (ITS) (f/m)

Job Description

This position is for a High Performance Computing Industry Technical Specialist in Intel’s Business Consumption Team. We’re looking for someone who has an excellent understanding of Intel technology in the high performance computing segment and who wants to directly work with our customers to shape their upcoming HPC solutions through influencing their decisions on a technical level.

You will be a member of a team which calls on customers in the segments of high performance computing, financial services and cloud service providers. As HPC ITS, you will be responsible for technical support of HPC accounts in Germany, working in collaboration with Account Executives. The day to day activities will include technical consultancy and defining optimal Intel based solutions for upcoming HPC deals, technical customer management, and providing general pre-sales technical support to the customers.

The preferred location is the Munich Field Sales office in Feldkirchen, a virtual location in Germany is also possible.

This is a commissioned sales position.


This position is suitable for candidates who have a proven ability to establish and exercise key technical relationships with our customers and internal stakeholders. A deep technical experience in the field of high performance computing and a very good technical understanding of Intel’s data center related product portfolio with a focus on HPC is required.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience as technical expert in the HPC industry segment
  • Existing knowledge and contacts in the German High Performance Computing Community
  • Practical experience building HPC clusters and/or administering HPC clusters
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and exercise key technical relationships with our customers and internally at Intel and proven skill to influence customer decisions
  • Results orientation, pro-activeness and capability to perform under pressure
  • Deep familiarity with HPC architecture (hardware/software)
  • HPC related knowledge of programming models and common tools
  • Sophisticated understanding of HPC fabric technology (Intel® Omni-Path Architecture, InfiniBand), storage technology including parallel filesystems, network and datacenter architecture as well as related software stacks  
  • Ability to quickly learn about new products and technologies
  • Capable of working unsupervised by prioritizing work and focusing on meeting agreed objectives in required time-frame with high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
