Job Description

Intel freeD is a dynamic and creative group within Intel, developing the future of video technology. “freeD” stands for Free Dimensional Video, and is an entirely new concept for capturing, processing and rendering video that allow users to immersively interact with real, live video. Our content is captured in the largest sport and entertainment venues in the world -Super Bowl, Soccer, NBA, etc

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated software engineer to join the development of a high-performance computing infrastructure for a large scale multi-camera system.

In this role you will be a part of a team of highly skilled engineers in a highly dynamic work environment, where you will be expected to show initiative and technological innovation. This team will build and maintain the very foundation upon which the entire production software and operational system will be based.


Responsibilities include:

  • Development of a highly complex distributed computing system for video streaming, image and 3D data processing.
  • System infrastructure development, including log management, performance monitoring and networking.
  • High volume video streaming, storage and compression.
  • System architecture.


B.Sc degree in Computer Science and 5+ Years experience in software development including:

  • C/C++ expert programming.
  • Object oriented programming, design patterns.
  • Parallel programming.
  • Optimization, profiling.
  • Networking
  • System programming multithreading, IPC, file system, etc..
  • Good understanding of modern hardware architectures CPU, PCI Express, GPU.


  • M.Sc in Computer Science, Software Engineering.
  • GPGPU: OpenCL, CUDA, compute shaders.
  • Video streaming and encoding/decoding.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Real-time applications.
  • HPC/Distributed computing.
  • System Architecture for Software.
  • Familiarity with libraries: boost, OpenMP, TBB, etc.
