Cisco has an exciting dCloud Project Engineer role open in our Global Security Sales Organization! You will be a highly motivated, customer-focused professional who has a passion for delivering world-class technology and services that protect our customers from the network to the endpoint to the Cloud.  As part of your DNA, you are a self-starter with strong technical skills, an engaging personality, and the capacity to work with or without supervision and has a strong desire to develop new skills and be a great team player!

Check out the details:

  • Ability to work across multiple teams to architect new and update to existing demos, labs and tools.
  • Act as SME for active demos, labs, and tools to liaison with dCloud and TAC teams to troubleshoot and debug any issues. 
  • Ability to image bare metal servers and install VMware vSphere
  • Ability to install Windows, Linux and appliance O/S on Virtual Machines
  • Ability to open and manage cases / trouble tickets with third-party vendors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting from Layer 1 through Layer 7 of the OSI model
  • Ability to draft and update documentation on demos, labs, and tools, including demo guides.
  • An appreciation of the following would be useful - Cisco telephony solutions, Cisco Networking, Cisco Datacenter, Cisco wireless, and BYOD
  • Ability to review and maintain existing demos, labs and tools, ensuring that they are working properly, contain useful content and showcase the appropriate features and functionality.

  •  Who You’ll Work With
    In this role as GSSO dCloud Project Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for building, maintaining and updating the GSSO dCloud demo and lab environment. In this position you will be working with the Security Business Units, Global Security Architects, POV SWAT, and the dCloud teams to install and remove equipment, configuring equipment as it is installed in the data center, implementing changes, providing input into weekly operations calls, timely reporting of issues, log file management, configuration of management tools and other standard day-to-day operational tasks. Day-to-day activities include Installing and removing equipment, updating management systems and documentation, troubleshooting, scrutinizing usage reports, actively participating in ongoing team calls an.  Additionally, you’ll produce high-quality documentation and collate and present capacity planning data to the larger team.

    Who You Are
    • 5 years experience in a hands-on data center operations role including data center power and network cabling systems
    • 3 years experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments
    • 3 years experience managing server infrastructure
    • 3 years experience managing and configuring Cisco Security infrastructure
    • 3 years experience working with VMware ESX
    • Demonstrable understanding of networking and IP theory, and Virtualization theory
    • Significant skill and interest in troubleshooting
    • Demonstrable understanding scripting languages

• Ability to produce high quality documentation

• Excellent spoken and written English

• Highly motivated self-starter that does not need day-to-day management
