Job Description

Working with leading graphics engineers on Intel's latest GPU/CPU architecture?  Then our Visual Technologies Team (VTT) has an opportunity for you.  In VTT, our focus is on delivering Best-in-Class visual experiences that enable users to immerse themselves in a new visual future. The Software team is within VTT and our purpose is to develop software on all OS’s for Intel’s lasts GPU/CPU architecture.

                                                                 

We have a position for Graphics Software Validation Engineer for Linux/Android. In this position, you’ll be responsible for validating multiple aspects of graphics i915 software stack on Linux/Android. 

Responsibilities will include using a structured test design strategy to create, develop and implement validation tests to be deployed in simulation and on hardware. You will be working as part of a team to build up on an existing validation framework where gaining a deep understanding of the software and underlying hardware feature will be critical in creating targeted validation tests which may be used in an open source environment. As a validation engineer your focus will be on upcoming graphics features in yet-to-be-released OSes to ensure our hardware and software will function and perform as expected on next generation platforms.

This position requires involvement in all phases of design from pre-silicon emulation/simulation through post-silicon product launch. The individual is expected to work with various partners and teams to resolve issues as well as recommend future hardware and software improvements.

You should have the ability to effectively work with cross geo teams of software validation/development engineers, Graphics Hardware Architect/Designers, product validation, marketing, legal and support teams to productize & innovate cutting edge graphics features. Candidate responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Programming primary in C, with some C++ for current and next generation versions of Linux and Android operating systems

- Work in Graphics Driver development interacting closely with hardware teams to define HW-SW interfaces for graphics

- Debugging device drivers to find the root-cause of bugs and provide insight towards a suitable fix

Qualifications

You should have a BSc degree with 5 years of experience or a MSc degree with 3 years of experience. Degree should be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field. Experience and proficiency should be related to software development and validation.

You should have 5 years of experience with the following:

  • Experience in C and C++ software product development – experience in applying project management methodologies and tools within the software development lifecycle
  • Android/Linux device driver architecture, development or validation
  • Knowledge of Computer Architecture and the basics of Operating systems
  • Hands on Linux experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graphics industry familiarity – experience working in systems (hardware/software) product development teams
  • Familiarity with graphics, video and/or display technologies
  • Experience in producing software development project indicators
  • Experience in validation techniques
  • Experience in program management (software lifecycle) processes and tools; competitive awareness and analysis of relevant graphics technologies
