FPGA Prototyping Engineer

Job Description
Prototyping using FPGA Platforms is a critical element to ensure overall robustness and quality of the IP being delivered to PCH/SoCs and accelerate TTM. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Creating emulation/Field Programmable Gate Array FPGA models from a Register Transfer Level RTL design using emulation/FPGA synthesis, partitioning and routing tools. Defining and documenting RTL changes required for emulation/FPGA. Developing hardware and software collaterals and integrating it with the emulation/FPGA model. Testing and debugging the emulation/FPGA model and collaterals. Defining and developing new capabilities& HW/SW tools to enable acceleration of RTL and improve emulation/FPGA model usability for pre-Silicon and post-Silicon functional validation as well as SW development/validation. Developing improvements to usability by RTL validation and debugging of failing RTL tests on the emulation platform. Interfacing with and providing guidance to pre-silicon Validation teams for optimizing pre-Si validation environments, test suites and methodologies for emulation efficiency. Developing and applying automation aids, flows and scripts in support of emulation ease-of-use and improvement of equipment utilization.You will also be responsible for coming up with the overall strategy/plan for Early Prototyping solution for a given IP based on the requirements/feature set. You will have an opportunity to work with the various customers/stakeholders including design, validation, SW etc. to collaborate on the overall plans/program commits working through technical readiness and implementation. You will be responsible for the overall execution plan and providing status updates in various development and management forums on the progress. Your responsibilities also include anticipating critical paths/key risks to the Early Prototyping program and coming up with adequate solutions to mitigate the risks in an effective manner. The ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:Strong Leadership skills and experience working w/ global teams Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and experience in presenting to senior management. Strong problem solving skills and ability to come up with Innovative solutions is required.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.Minimum Qualifications:Candidate must have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree with 5+ Years of experience in relevant area of expertise required. Expertise working with FPGA/Emulation Technology/Platforms.Strong expertise with Design/Verification environment used for Early Prototyping e.g. VCS, Protocompiler/SynplifyFPGA/ emulation of SOC Strong knowledge on protocols Storage, Memory, PCIe Strong knowledge on FPGA tools and timing convergenceExperience/Expertise dealing with High Speed IO is strongly preferred. Should have demonstrated experience with Commit/Deliver and strong orientation towards achieving high quality results. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in managing small technical teams is strongly preferred. Experience working w/ PC platforms is strongly preferred. Xilinx Expertise is strongly preferred.
