What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for creating, driving and managing thought leader platforms and strategic communications programs for the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Field Operations, reporting directly to the executive. This role is responsible for creating compelling, original, executive-level content for internal and external audiences, and acting as a primary liaison to functional executive spokespeople, executive leadership team, key stakeholders and the broader corporate communications community.

Who You Are

You have experience in building strong relationships with a highly matrixed group of stakeholders. You have an understanding of the executive's function and business strategy and can drive the strategic communications planning and execution to deliver on that strategy. You demonstrate an above average understanding and thinking across multiple communications disciplines as well as a strong knowledge of the business. You have experience advising/working directly with senior executives, are a strong collaborator and have the ability to partner globally across a mix of constituents and organizations. You bring a customer-focused innovative mentality that is digital savvy and has experience in message creation, storytelling and PowerPoint.

You will create and manage a strategic communications plan for the executive team and provide strategic communications advice to help increase the impact of an executive's business priorities. Key Priorities will be:

o Developing and executing a strategic communications plan for the executive and provide advice to help increase the impact of an executive's business priorities. Plan should include:
o Business Objectives
o Situation Analysis
o Audiences (examples: customers, partners, field, executive staff)
o Current vs. Desired Perceptions
o Communications Strategy
o Key messages for the overall organization
o Tactics and vehicles for communicating (keynotes, emails, videos, broadcasts, voicemails, roundtables)
o Cadence (who, what, where, when)
o Measurement (surveys, focus groups, behavior changes)
o Creating speaking content that enables the executive to achieve his business objectives - includes a thought leadership platform, messaging, keynotes, presentations, strategic and organizational communications deliverables - to meet the needs of difference audiences (external & internal)
o Supporting high-visibility strategic communications and events, both internally and externally - includes annual sales meeting, annual partner events, customer advisory boards, senior leadership meetings, industry conferences, etc
o Partnering with other communications disciplines (PR, AR, IR, Social Media and Speakers Bureau) to develop plans for external opportunities and messaging alignment
o Developing broad-based communications (using multiple vehicles like email, voicemail, Cisco TV) that include strategic goals
o Establishing an engagement model with executive, executive team and key stakeholders to proactively manage communications work
o Demonstrating and evangelizing communications excellence
o Driving consistency and quality
o Providing coaching and advising on communications excellence and delivery
o Ensuring messaging alignment and consistency across the organization and company
o Executing flawlessly
o Managing direct communications team as well as coordinating broader communications team for entire sales organization

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

o 8-10 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, or related field
o 5+ years internal/external communications in varied disciplines, such as organizational communications, executive communications, and public relations
o Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international)
