What You'll Do:

Cisco’s UCTG (Unified Collaboration Technology Group), an industry leader in On-Premise Collaboration solutions, is expanding its responsibilities within the Collaboration Technology Group. We are searching for an experienced, results-oriented Technology champion to be a key member of the leadership team within our user experience led, agile organization. We are seeking a talented individual with substantial database design, implementation and benchmarking experience, who is well versed in the area of database architecture, design and implementation for world’s best collaboration product.

In this fast-paced role you will work cross-functionally with software architects for various other areas in the product, and our team of solution level architects to define and maintain the best-in class data store.  You will also be responsible for setting the standard for performance and scalability of our products as far as data store is concerned.  As part of the leadership team you will:

.           You will work in a team driven by world class Agile practices

·           Collaborate with development managers, architects and product owners to develop the architecture and deliver world-class database design for multiple solutions on time and meeting Definition of Done

 ·       Participate in product backlog development and grooming to achieve the agreed-upon database deliverables for a collaboration product in the solution.

·        Maintain highest level of quality, productivity standards for high performing agile teams

·       Have the ability to think and operate based on the big picture at a solution level

·       Help maintain the technical talent by participating in training plans, skill development in the area of database.

Who You Are:

·       BS/MS in Technical Communications, Computer Science, or other relevant technical degree and 15+ years of hands-on industry experience

·       Strong software architectural skills, leading by empowerment and engagement

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written

·       Strong priority management, time management, and problem solving skills

·       Ability to define problems, establish facts, and develop logical solutions

·       Ability to foster teamwork and resolve problems expeditiously and positively

·       Experience working in an Agile environment

 

Preferred Skills:

·       Software architecture and design experience with RDBMS with a very strong knowledge of the internals of database performance, and scalability

.        Strong knowledge of Architecture, Design, Implementation, Administration, DB security, Performance Tuning, Data Modelling, Migration, DDL/DML design / data quality analysis, SQL- Query optimization expertise, including data integrity analysis for application customization testing, benchmarking against various RDBMS and creating analytical metrics

.       Working experience with Informix is highly desirable

.       Working experience with various RDBMS vendors to resolve customer issues, demand design changes, and address feature/tools gaps

.       Working relationship with the IBM support teams is a plus

.       Working experience with other relation data bases (including Postgres) is desirable

·       Working knowledge of Jira, and Rally is a plus

·       Ability and passion for learning new technologies, tools, and methods

·       Experience working on Voice and Collaboration applications, experience with VoIP Call Control Applications is a definite plus
