What You'll Do

The Engineering Ops team look after a wide range of equipment: switches, routers, servers, VMs and SANs. In addition, we manage a continuous integration (CI) platform for our R&D that is split between central Cisco provided services and on-site test systems. We need to respond very quickly to infrastructure problems and so a high degree of technical ability is required to fault find and take corrective action. We do not run a ticketing scheme or formal 'customer portal', but instead work closely and informally with the development teams, to understand their needs and help achieve their product development goals.

The Engineering Ops team work in two main areas: DevOps and LabOps, described below. We are looking for engineers to work in both areas of the team over time and will provide training to achieve this. We operate several labs and datacenters in Europe and the US.

You will work as a member of the successful collaboration product development team who are industry world leaders in developing collaboration technology. We are looking to grow our application, system and security teams working on a wide range of products including our leading scalable Cisco meeting server portfolio. You'll gain a unique opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in networking, video and collaboration technologies along with the continuous development, integration and deployment of our product line



Who You Are


Must have knowledge and practical experience of:

- CI configuration and tools.

- Docker on Linux, including deployment, debugging of containerised services.

- Linux server management and configuration (bare-metal, VM and cloud-based)

- Git

- Computer network protocols

- High level language (such as Python, Ruby)

Desirable skills:

- Kubernetes

- Golang and Govendor

- Logging and monitoring tools, such as Zabbix and CheckMK

- Cloud compute and storage services such as AWS

- Infrastructure as code

- Windows, Apple/OS X administration
