Consulting System Engineer, Management and Orchestration

(MANO)

Who you’ll work with

The Consulting Systems Engineer will be a key member of the sales team working in close alignment with Product Sales Specialists and Account Teams, taking ownership of technical aspects in the sales process and in professional services assignments.

It is a challenging but very interesting and rewarding role that requires both technical breadth and depth in order to be effective. A typical engagement starts off with developing an intimate understanding of the customer’s specific business need or issues and then applying deep knowledge about Cisco

MANO products and a wide range of other technologies to come up with and presenting compelling solutions proposals.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for presenting and explaining Cisco’s MANO software products and technology to customers and partners articulating the unique benefits and value
  • Crafting and presenting solutions proposals addressing the client’s network or datacenter challenges/pains
  • Reinforcing customers evaluating Cisco MANO software solutions in everything from installation to customization
  • Working hands-on with customers in their labs on Proof-Of-Concepts etc.
  • Defining requirements and statement of work (SOW)
  • Participate actively in assignments
  • Representing the company as the technical contact person and adviser.
  • Establish Cisco as a leader with vision, trusted advisor and long-term partner
  • You will actively involve all parts of the Cisco organisation as needed (product managers,specialists, tech support, marketing, management etc.) to own the project/program
  • Communicate feed-back from customers and the market place to partners within the company

Who you are

  • Deep understanding WAN and Data Center networking technology
  • Network administration with Cisco, Juniper, ALU and similar WAN environments
  • Hands-on experience with several device vendors CLI and web UIs
  • 10 years + experience of working for a Software vendor or in a software environment
  • Experience in scripting languages (Java programming experience a plus)
  • Good orientation of IETF standards
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal/written)
  • A high sense of ownership, coupled with an outcome driven mentality
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
  • Very good social skills, capable of building trust relationships internally and at our customers.
  • Excellent teammate, willing to help others and prepared to ask for help when necessary
  • A high focus on quality and responsiveness

Meriting Skills

  • Minimum BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Cisco and Industry network solutions, cloud computing (i.e. Openstack,VMWare), Data Center, Virtualization and NFV
  • Database technologies
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts
  • Linux Skills
  • Pre-sales / consulting experience with a Software/Networking Vendor
