What You'll Do

Cisco seeks for a Commercial Finance Analyst - GSP Americas.

In this position supporting the Global Service Provider organization.  You will be responsible for structuring deals for large Service Provider customers.

 You will have the opportunity to be a key advisor for the sales team and finance controllers, partnering with a variety of internal stakeholders to provide a balanced approach to the business we are pursuing.  In this role you will be a critical contributor to the overall success of the GSP Americas Commercial Finance team.

You will be exposed to many disciplines across the business and will play a critical role in managing complex and non-standard deal processes through close collaboration with Sales/Services and multiple advisory functions, while demonstrating an understanding of Cisco's pricing model, business and go-to-market strategy for specific Service Providers. 

Who You'll Work With

You will work closely with the solution selling account teams and multiple advisory functions supporting the structuring of deals. Candidates from other organizations outside of finance could bring significant value to this exciting opportunity to be at the front end of our business.

Who You Are 

You are a financial analyst with a base of business knowledge, Cisco knowledge and Revenue Recognition experience.  This role is part of the broad finance organization and while a finance background is not a strict requirement, it will be critical to be successful in the role. Financial Statement impact and Communication Skills are a plus for any candidate.

You must demonstrate judgment and discretion to ensure that Cisco optimizes margin and effectively mitigates risk while remaining commercially competitive in a challenging business environment.  The ability to be a self-starter, work independently and think critically is essential to the role. The position may have an element of customer-facing interaction to build partnerships and/or provide Finance representation in critical negotiations; as such a good fit candidate will be able to serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor.  Knowledge of and experience with Cisco's Service Provider business will be helpful.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

You should hold a Business-related degree or other Finance qualifications, coupled experience (4-6 years) in a large multinational corporate environment with exposure to various financial and/or commercial disciplines, preferably Sales or Services and/or come from a BU/R&D background.  Very strong financial skills coupled with industry-specific knowledge of key business trends Superior written and verbal communication skills, with executive presence.  Excellent time management and planning skills with the ability to shift priorities in a highly dynamic environment.

Fluent in English and Spanish.


Also highly desirable:

* Knowledge of My Deal Manager, Deal Checkpoint and Cisco Commerce Workspace would be helpful

* Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire high performance

* Bid, deal or pricing management experience

* Sales support experience

* Knowledge of foreign exchange between Canada and US currencies
