What You'll Do

As a hands-on Architect for the Cloud team, you will be working closely with the Cisco product managers and software engineering teams to design and develop modern software solutions, influence product direction, and integrate with other complimentary Cisco products and solutions.

  • Ability to lead the design and architecture of a new Service Catalog solution
  • Experience deploying/maintaining public and/or private cloud applications at scale.
  • Experience in developing flexible, scalable and easy to use REST APIs. 
  • Back-end development with front-end experience: GoLang/ReactJS
  • Knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns and threads.
  • Team player with good analytical and communication skills. Enthusiastic and highly motivated. 
  • Familiar with development trends such as frameworks, libraries, design approaches.

It is an exciting time at Cisco; we are working on the next generation of Cloud Solutions.  The Cloud Platform and Solutions Group (CPSG) is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Architect to work on the next generation of Cloud-Native Service Catalog solutions.  This product uses the latest in advanced design, technologies, and processes but delivers similar functionality as Prime Service Catalog used in many solutions such as Cisco eStore, Enterprise Cloud Suite, etc. and running at many large Cisco customers. 

Who You Are

Required technologies:

    Java, J2EE, GoLang
    REST architecture, REST APIS, SOA, webservices

    High-Availability concepts

    CI/CD experience

    Unix/Linux/Windows OS

    AMQP/RabbitMQ, middleware                 

    UI Frameworks such as Angular, ReactJS

  • Fluency in one or more languages of Java or Go
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Configuration management experience with one or more configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible
  • Ability to work across different teams and organizations.
  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working within small teams

Preferred Skills:

  •     Analytics and Data collection/analysis
  •     Database - ArangoDB
  •     VMWare vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, Openstack, Puppet, Chef, Docker
  •     Apache Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss
  •     Jenkins, Git, Ant, DevOps
  •     Self-Service Portal and Catalog experience
  •     Concepts of Multi-tenancy, RBAC, Security 
  •     Agile, Scrum development process
  •     Cloud' (using IaaS and PaaS) experience desirable

BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) or equivalent practical experience

This position can reside in San Jose, CA or Texas (Austin or Houston).
