BSP Embedded Device Driver Expert

Job Description
- Develops device driver software for low level drivers and middleware in board support packageBSP as the primary job function BSP delivery goes into various cutting-edge wireless modem programs including LTE solution for a key customer.- End-to-end development responsibility - Designs, develops, debugs & tests on the target system. - Opportunity to work across multiple SOC architectures based on ARM, IA, Tensilica DSP, Synopsys ARC. Excellent venue to cross correlate the pros & cons of different embedded cores and influence product configuration. - Will work as part of a highly skilled team that has proven over years through great team spirit, knowledge cross sharing and positive work environment.- Will have responsibility to deliver high quality BSP software for an assigned project or across projects by collaborating across cross-geo teams like platform software, Hardware, System Engineering, Integration and Verification teams.- Adaptable to work across both low level drivers like DMA, I2C etc and middleware logical layer like heap manager. - High involvement in system topics like memory configuration, resource handling, system initialization. - Need to drive silicon bring up camps to prove successful execution of BSP and support various system tracks. This requires strong preparation and alignment during pre-silicon development phase. - Apply analytical problem solving skills to unblock critical system problems both within BSP domain and across the system. - Groom junior team members on technical activities based on project assignments.


Qualifications

- BTech/MTech with atleast 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development including device drivers. - Strong device driver development experience in any of the domain Wireless, automotive, PC etc is a must. - Good understanding and work experience with low level operating systems like Nucleus, ThreadX is a must.- Excellent knowledge of C or C++ programming, especially in developing multi-core or multi-threaded software is a must.- Strong in CPU architecture - ARM and/or X86. Assembly programming knowledge expected. - Faster system level problem solving skills through analytical approach.- Strong Communication and negotiation skills.- Preferably should have developed drivers for BSP specifically in some of the areas listed below: on-chip peripherals like "DMA, Interrupt controller, Timers, Pin control, Reset Control, RTC, NAND" core specific services like "Core init, Cache, MMU, Paging" on chip connectivity like "I2C, SPI, NOC" Power drivers like "Clocks, Voltages, load balancing, sleep handling"- Should have exposure to System Initialization, memory configuration and control. - Hands-on experience with JTAG based debug tools such as Lauterbach T32. Advance debugger usage like profiling, embedded trace analysis, HW signal monitoring using Oscilloscope are expected- Should be comfortable using one of the standard version control systems like GIT, Clearcase.- Hands-on working experience with Target HW - Understand schematics, probing hardware and measurement.- Should have experience in formulating or influencing architecture for new device drivers.- Ability to drive technical topics across various groups to achieve use case functionality.- Should have successfully driven improvement initiatives across multiple teams. - Development experience in middleware stack like heap management- Conceptual knowledge of Power management, system trace handling and Cellular Protocol Stack- Scripting knowledge - like Perl, Python - Paper publications and patents
