3D Xpoint RTL Design Engineer

Job Description

Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components.

This position is part of the 3D Xpoint Logic and Validation team. You will be responsible for performing RTL design and validation of Intel's new Optane memory to ensure it meets product specifications and functionality. You will be required to work very closely with analog and RTL designers as well as architects to implement the low-level RTL design and ensure the overall functionality of the chip. You will develop specific tests and test plans to validate the device by identifying and exercising boundary conditions and special cases in an effort to "break" the chip to find that last elusive bug

Responsibilities may be quite diverse in a technical nature and will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the role, U.S. experience and education requirements.

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects.
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement
  • Involve in RTL logic design in System Verilog.
  • Develop and support the full chip test environment and Unit Level Tests.
  • Debug RTL simulations.
  • Validating the functionality of new architectural features of next generation designs by developing the validation test plan, test content or test tools
  • Developing automated tools or scripts for the pre-silicon validation environment.
  • Contribute to the definition of higher level device specifications.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a BS degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 3 (+) months of experience with digital design.
  • 6+ months of experience with: System Verilog, OVM, UVM and test bench development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of experience in object oriented design, data structures and algorithms, IDE Eclipse, visual studio, or similar, make, GIT.
